Gold earrings are a perfect romantic gift for a man or a woman because they match everything and also symbolize status. Whether they’re hoops, studs, drop or other styles, anyone who receives gold as a gift can see its worth. Gold can be worn for any occasion from formal gowns to denim and a T-shirt.

When gold was used as currency, wealthy people used their gold to make jewelry (such as gold earrings) and wear it. This was a way to display wealth as well as keeping it on your person at all times. The gold standard was applied almost universally until 1933 when the United States abandoned it. Fiat currency is now used everywhere.

In antiquity, gold earrings displayed the wealth and status of the owner while protecting it from thieves. Gold is timeless, precious and always of great value.
